I’m in one of my zones
and i can’t tell you I'm alone
cause if i call you on the phone
you know I’ll lie…all the time, all the time
now you see what i am
and can you tell me the master plan
and does it include me getting damned
and if i am, where in this hell are you? it’s just me and you
since fare thee well
the sins i can’t tell
shallow thoughts might sell
wins for a change
i wince at the strain
my goal is to estrange you!
you’re playing me for the fool
i think I’m losing my cool
gimme’ another rule and I’m gonna shove it down
your pretty throat, make a note
looks like another fight
and you’re telling me wrong from right
and then i think I’m losing sight of the question…
what’s that on your dress? let’s make a nasty mess yes?
now you see what i am
and can you tell me the master plan
and does it include me getting damned
and if i am, where in this hell are you, where are you?
i put you in one of your moods
and now you’re telling me I’m being rude
and then you shower me with “the lewd
and lascivious dance of the doomed”…make some room for me
I’ll call you on the phone i don’t think you’re alone
I’ll knock on your door we could talk a little more
I’ll blast down your door we could talk a little more…
I’m not feeling this…
I’m not feeling this…
although i wasn't really angry with anyone in particular for this song, it sure appears that way...definitely an angst tune for some of my relationship issues in general...
as in many songs, the lyrics on the cutting floor were actually a bit harsher than the ones that made the tune...never played this one live, but messing with an acoustic version is kind of interesting..Steve wove some nice Moog sounds to hold this one up in the studio
the song title is actually a nod to one of my favorite bands, the Canadien trio "RUSH" (la villa strangiato)
