I’ve seen the storied eyes
And I’ve sung some lullabies
Please don’t ask me why
I would ever say good-bye
A golden
To see what life can offer me
Lights, the crowds, my destiny
Pedantic roads to memory
Is there a secret word for me?
A rarely heard ‘hypocrisy’?
I cannot think for the life of me
I’m speaking high, pathetically
Directions that I cannot go
Perspectives that I’ll never know
In my empty hands I’ll show
The seeds of life never sown
All the broken alibis
One to five, the lullabies
Please don’t ask me why
I would ever say good-bye
this is a poignant song for me, because even though i love the family, that irresistable wanderlust is always pulling me away...
i think this was my first attempt at a piano tune where i actually played the piano...doing it live is always a challenge (ahem), esp. when you have someone as masterful as Steve watching you do it...
