What’s your point of view?
I’m trying to see us through
You know you’re so beautiful
I’d like to walk a mile in your shoes
But if it were me, how would you choose?
I’m trying to get along
Just trying to sing this song
Could you tell me if I had no tune would you still sing my song?
I think about us, we couldn’t be more wrong
‘Cause I believe you belong to me
And I can sell if I want to sell
You’re trying me you lie to me you cry to me you’re a liar
And I know now I’m not coming down
For what now shall I stand
I’m not quite the man you put the order in for
When you were my only fan
I might try to explain but you’d never understand
‘Cause I believe you belong to me
And I can sell if I want to sell
I don’t know if you’ll ever show what you want me to know is it time to go?
‘Cause I believe you belong to me
And I can tell this is fare thee well
You’re trying me you lie to me you cry to me you’re a liar
And I know now I’m not coming down
the typical relationship song.. i like the fact that the title and the song content are not at all in line with each other...it seems it should be an uplifting thing when it is not..
i was very proud of the musical intro and outro for the song, and although the vocals are somewhat "loose", i think it falls in with the disjointed relationship of the tunes' participants...
that's a 30 yr old Hohner 12-string used in the beginning, sometimes painful to tune, but i've always liked the "warmth" and bright tones it provides.. the outro we switched to a 6 string Martin for a "depth" change...
